You may have not intended to do so, but I think you have managed to express the state of mind that a lot of people are in. The sense of wanting to help, but not knowing how or where, is something a lot of us are going through.

Thanks Julie. You make a great point with your example, and thank you for your example of how those in the careers industry really can make a difference for their clients when given the opportunity. Rob

Agreeing with Erin, Rob! And I am from Wisconsin and it is May and there is pouring rain coming down.

You know what we do... professional resume writers and those of us who also provide more services to job seekers? We listen, we help... and we don't want the job seeker to feel alone. Uncomfortable is the tip of the "iceberg."

Just this morning I was talking to a client in need of an update to put a new position on the resume. After she used my services in January was still struggling with being dismissed in December after 16 years with one place as a Registered Nurse.

She went into a deep depression... she should have called me, I would have helped remind her that she wasn't alone... But she came out of it, and then got 4 job offers in one week after she had already taken a new position.

She was only unemployed for about 3 months but it hit her so hard. So many people don't even think to hire one of us or tell themselves they can't afford it. But we can make life-changing differences for them. Thanks, Rob!

I was there. I was right there with ya for a moment, Rob. Hot sun, water, cold-adult-beverage... ahhh. Nice visual. Especially on a rainy, cold day like today (--thanks. I needed that mini vacation!).

You are spot-on about hiring a pro versus trying to navigate the complex waters of writing a resume. It can make the difference between getting the job and not.

Good post!

Erin (your most loyal fan... well, next to JBP of course. ;) ).
