Have you ever hoped for something so bad that once you got it, you weren’t quite sure how to deal with it?  A trip around the world, a chance to meet someone you idolize, or a big job interview can be especially disconcerting. In fact, an important job interview may be the most nerve-wracking. But the good news is that it doesn’t have to be.

In my latest US News post, I offer 10 tips to help you overcome your jitters. I invite you to read the full story, here: 10 Ways to Battle Job-Interview Jitters.

    acqui,

Great tips artfully interwoven to provide a blanket of comfort to help quell those pre-interview jitters. Well done!

I would like to add one more tip, which may seem counter-intuitive, especially to those head-based, gotta-get-it-done people.

It’s also the same tip I advise before going for surgery. Spend a bit of time doing something totally unrelated to the interview; something you love. A drive along your favourite route, a walk, put on your favourite tunes.

When you spend time doing something you love, you balance your nervous system, which then helps you become more coherent. That’s a good state to be in for an interview.
