Jacqui
I wanted to let you know that I have accepted a job offer starting next week. The VP of Human Resources for the company told me that my resume was the best he has ever seen in 30 years in the business. The job is Director of Commercial Strategy for JP Energy. While the connection with <Name Redacted> helped, the resume sealed the deal with the other executives in the company.
Thank you again for your hard work on putting my story together. While the process was grueling at times, it was definitely worth it.
I’d would still like to follow through with the Linked In updates to complete the story whenever you are able to finish that.
Let me know what else you need from me to finish up the process.
Thanks again,
Todd Johnson

My name is Margaret Tompkins and you worked with me on creating my resume last February 2013 (attached).
First off, I want to thank you so much for everything you did to help me on my resume. I 100% believe that this resume helped me receive an incredible opportunity in Charleston, SC last year. I ended up interning for a Wedding/Event Planning company by the name of Easton Events and then was hired in January 2014 to be the Sales Manager for a brand new event venue in Charleston called Cannon Green (a sister company of Easton Events).
The past 15 months have been eye-opening, rewarding, challenging and valuable to the start of my career, but now I think it is time to move on to even bigger and better things.
I ended up leaving my job in October and I am interested in pursuing different opportunities in a different city. I wanted to see if one of the services you offered was to add additional excerpts into an already crafted Resume (specifically my internship with Easton Events and my position with Cannon Green)
I am also interested in a new target position. This past year, I have found that I really enjoy writing & blogging and I am interested in sending my resume to various magazines (Conde Nast and Time Inc.) and internet media companies (Buzzfeed) in New York City.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this e-mail and I look forward to hearing from you!

Resume rescue
My old, old, old resume needed an overhaul! I wanted a new one that would weave together two related but different fields. I was a little concerned about how to effectively highlight my experience and accomplishments in both fields. Jacqui pulled it all together creating a resume that chronicled my career history but also brought out my personality in a very professional way. I would absolutely recommend her.

Jacqui,
I have enjoyed this (resume) process and have gotten a lot out of working with that long worksheet and talking it over with you: a dose of extra confidence, so many of my career stories refreshed in my mind, as well as a reminder of the key things that I am good at and enjoy. All this is excellent preparation for interviews, in addition to having the resume.
You have been a pleasure to work with! I appreciated your professionalism, writing skill, listening abilities, and timely deliverables. I will certainly be happy to refer others to you.

From the first telephone call, Jacqui asked insightful questions and listened carefully. The worksheet she provided not only helped me identify my strengths but triggered memories of accomplishments I’d forgotten!
Just working with Jacqui reminded me why I’m a great hire!!
The final resume was jaw droppingly amazing. All my husband could say was, “it’s you”!! Jacqui took the information I provided and presented it in a way I never would have imagined or could have done myself. Better — the resume alone immediately generated many inquiries and compliments from recruiters and prospective employers.
I was so beyond delighted, I had Jacqui revamp my LinkedIn profile and prepare cover letters.
Two words: hire her!

Hey Jacqui!
I apologize for the delay in response. I have been utilizing every free moment the past few weeks studying for my Series 7 & 66 licenses. Thank you so much for reaching out, and I am glad you did because I have been wanting to touch base and first of all express my appreciation for everything you did to transform my entire approach to the job search.
From day one when we first connected and you sent me the Resume Prep document that required hours of digging deep into what I had really accomplished the past 4-5 years, it was then when my job search did a complete 180. Going away from what every average job applicant my age was doing, and believing in your approach as well as the entire mindset to take going into potential interviews was a complete game changer.
Every single interview I received whether it was over the phone or in person, at some point during the process the interviewee said when they saw my resume they loved the way it jumped out and wasn’t an avalanche of facts or statements, but rather a short story about myself leading up to the situation I am in today. There is no doubt in my mind that without your help I would not have received the job opportunities that I did.
Now, I don’t want to give you a massive email so I will cut it short here but I’d love to share with you my success story and how unique of a situation it was in how I landed the job at TD Ameritrade. It is certainly a great success story emphasizing how persistence can truly pay off. I’d be happy to shoot you an email with more details about it all or if you have a few minutes some point this week I could shoot you a call. Whatever works for you.I hope all is well Jacqui! Talk to you soon.

Good morning, Jacqui,
I love my Executive Summary! The entire package is working out very well and I’m getting interviews. For the first time in my career, companies are reaching out to me as well. I have a few interviews in progress and the roles are exactly what I would like to do.
A company that searched me out said my resume contained descriptions so clear that they could see before speaking to me that I was a perfect fit.
Thank you for taking excellent care in my profile. Tooting my horn is not easy and the resume makes it natural. Developing my profile with you was a very kind thing to do for myself.
Thank you,

Hi Jacqui,
Great news! I was offered and accepted the position at Cars.com. I’ve attached the description below so you can get a glimpse — I think it’s a nice transition job for me and could turn out to be much more in the future. I think my new boss is very cool and seems to care about his people and the overall company culture feels that way as well. Ironically, I also just got contacted from Amazon for a position in Seattle — I had put my resume on their HR site.
I had the skills and passion and combined with your expertise, it created a resume that highlighted facts that mattered most for jobs I was targeting. I must say your process, while demanding up-front, not only prepared me well for talking to prospectives about my “stories” and key leadership points but it also gave me great confidence and reminded me of the value that I bring to potential employers.
So, while other writers may be equally experienced, it’s the process of working with you and the questions you ask (the dialogue) that crafted such a valuable final product. I’m very happy that we connected and have recommended you to others already.
I hope all is well and you enjoy your holidays!!

I had no idea who Jacqui Barrett-Poindexter was when I gave her a call to discuss helping with my resume other than a name, phone number and an appealing advertisement.
However, within the first 10 minutes of our phone call I knew I had made the right choice. Jacqui’s top of the ladder professionalism, uncanny ability to connect with my goals, and her friendly and inviting voice left me feeling excited about working with her and completing a resume that needed her special touch.
Jacqui’s “homework” assignment to provide her with the information she needed was thorough and tremendously helpful with jogging my memory. It came with an unexpected surprise of additionally preparing me for my interviews as I completed the form.I also employed Jacqui to help with introductory letters, thank you letters and Linkedin. Another wise choice on my part!
There were no disappointments, and I have to say some very unexpected “WOWS!” If you are going back and forth on whether to utilize someone to help you with today’s new and improved resume, etc., don’t ponder any longer.
Call Jacqui and I am confident you will feel like I did – Thank goodness I made the phone call and why did I wait so long to decide I needed help!

Jacqui has been my preferred provider for resume preparation services for more than 7 years. She has assisted many executives at my companies who have not kept their resumes up to date as they have progressed in their careers, and she has provided guidance on my own resume.

Hey Jacqui!
Guess what? I GOT A JOB!!! I start Tuesday as an instructional assistant in a preschool class for autistic kids. I will be making more money, working less hours, and receive full health benefits and retirement.
I just got the resume from you less than a week ago! That’s gotta be some kind of record, considering I didn’t even have any leads.
I had my doubts about spending so much money on something so uncertain, but now I have no regrets.
Thank you so much again! : )

Jacqui,
I accepted the offer from Galderma Laboratories this past Friday. I resigned from Sysco today. It is all so good. Galderma is a specialty, niche pharmaceutical sales job calling on Dermatologists. I will be selling Epiduo and Differen .3.
Wonderful opportunity.
Everyone at Sysco is so happy for me; my resignation went great. I got a hug and the personal validation about what a wonderful opportunity it is. So I got their blessing. After almost 9 years (in Oct), I really appreciate that support from my team and Sysco family.
I start April 18! My recruiter found my resume that you did for me on CareerBuilder.
Interviews went awesome! I interviewed with both Goetze Dental as well as Galderma all of March, which was taxing. I then had my moment of pure certainty, which felt so great!
Take care,

Jacqui:
I just wanted to take a moment and make you aware of how well received my resume was during my efforts to find a position. I have always approached my job search with a professional resume, but the work you collectively and collaboratively demanded and then transposed was of a much higher caliber and my hit rate for initial interviews greatly improved.
More validating for me was the response from both HR and independent recruiters; “superbly done”, “loved the format”, “I would change nothing” and “I really admire its unique nature”, were just some of the comments I received. In addition I felt the branding image and genuine stories within the document kept me fresh and added cohesion during the interview process, thus making me a better interviewee.
Thanks again for all your expertise and efforts!

Jacqui,
I wanted to tell you, I got an email from T.H. from a recruiting company. It was about a niche pharma sales position in dermatology. I passed his screen and did some revisions to my resume. He wants to represent me to the company. I have a phone screen sometime this week with the company directly.
THEN — Out of the blue, a dental company called me. Turns out they just never hired ANYONE last spring. So, I am going to speak with them Tuesday at 10 a.m.
T.H. wanted me to prepare by employing the STAR method, which is the same thing as your process from our worksheet. I was so thankful to have my document saved, all the stories and thoughts. I was reviewing it this weekend, as my interview prep has gone to almost “obsession” levels. I want to kill it, and finally make the career move of a lifetime.
Your process is helping me prepare. I just wanted you to know how much I am thankful for this. What a difference it makes–the process, I mean–it is total preparation, so you don’t have to scramble thinking up all these stories. I have super high expectations for myself and my career, and these examples and the way the info is organized is solid.
I did not start to feel as confident as I do now, until I reviewed what work we did. It reminded me of what I am capable of and have produced. Now, I am not nervous for the interview, I am SO EXCITED to shine.
Thank you a bunch!!!

Ways Your Resume can Influence Your Future
As a teacher I knew the value of using a professional to help with things I could do but others could do better. I decided that Jacqui would be the best fit for preparing my resume as I looked to work in a different field. Little did I know the role she would play in my future.
My new position was to start my own company with a partner in Colorado. My resume was still important for meeting funders, opening doors and “looking good” on paper. One technologist refused to meet with me at all until I sent him my resume (in fairness he did send me his). Whatever magic Jacqui put in that resume really worked because we had our first meeting August 4th and got married on Nov 22nd. Ten years later we still chuckle at the value of a resume!
Thank you Jacqui.

Hello Jacqui!
I had this week a wonderful set of discussions for a very senior role with a company. The resume did absolute wonders, impressing the CEO, COO, many VPs and to my pleasant surprise the board of directors with whom all I interviewed with. This underscores in my mind the value of your service and deliverables.
Some of the comments that I received about the resume in particular:
* Outstanding value demonstrated in the resume
* Obvious from the resume that you are a visionary and contributor
* This is one of the best resumes I have ever seen and your skills, value and experience are impressive!
Your resume is extremely impressive and we wanted to have this chance to talk about the opportunity with our company.
It is absolutely a great presentation and value statement, and I love how it moves from all the lower level discussions to the higher level ones so quickly.
Money well spent! Anyways just thought to let you know 🙂

Hi Jacqui,
I’m not sure if you remember me, but back in late 2007 (I think) I used your services to write a formal resume for me as I sought my first job as a fire chief.
It wasn’t an easy prospect. While I had an undergraduate degree, I had limited experience as a fire department officer and I was very young to be trying to getting such a position.
I was worried about spending so much money on a simple resume, but once I started sending your finished product out, I began getting return phone calls and interviews.
It still didn’t happen immediately. I ended up applying at over 30 fire departments and was disappointed more than once to be a finalist for a job only to lose out to someone with much more experience.
In March of 2009, I finally landed my dream job, and I’m certain it was in no small part due to your help. I beat out over 40 applicants from around the country for a job as a fire chief of a large Mid-West fire department.
I even beat out guys that had 20 years experience as fire chiefs, and myself not even 40 years old yet.
A big part of it was the fact that my resume really stood out from the crowd.
Thanks again for your services and the part you had in getting me where I wanted to be in my career!
Sincerely,
Nick Swinhart, BSHS, Lic-P
Fire Chief

Jacqui:
My investment in your service was worth every penny as it allowed me to fast-forward highlighting what I am capable of contributing.
After 10 months of conducting my search (and staying with my current employer) using my newly created resume, I have landed an outstanding position. The resume that you created for me was designed to highlight the quality of the accomplishments I have experienced in my business career and downplay the number of positions I have held.
The smart executive understands his/her role as a “free agent” – a need to be nimble and responsive to the needs of progressive companies looking for high achievers and best performers(versus clutching on to a lifetime career at a single company, an ideal of the past). The smart company appreciates the modern executive’s strategic and agile approach to designing a career and value proposition “story” that matches to corporate needs, one that requires a diversity of experiences and key contributor and leadership roles that advanced him up the career ladder and positioned him to solve the needs and contemporary problems within an ever-shifting global market-place.
That’s what you helped create for me, a story about what I contributed in my various roles and how I opted to become a “free agent” when my role did not meet my needs as an individual. In fact, when speaking with the CEO of my new opportunity his only comment about my work history was not about how many, but rather “it really looks like you have held some very important positions, much like we need in our company.”
Jacqui, thank you again.

Hi Jacqui!
Best wishes in 2005 to you! I’m not sure if I ever told you which job I accepted in August 2002. I’m a 4th grade teacher at a small Catholic school. It’s right off of I-35 and only takes me 20 minutes — barring any construction!
Let me thank you again for the encouragement you gave me during our “pre-writing” resume interview. You pointed out the “qualities” I didn’t realize I still had after not teaching for ALOT of years!!
Starting in this small school and having a wonderful, supportive staff has really helped build up my confidence. I won’t lie: the first semester was tough!! But, I prevailed, and I’m in my 3rd year there. I’ve received my Kansas licensure after taking the 8 credit hours I needed to qualify for the “recency” requirement.
All is well, and I pray for another good year.
Yours truly,
Karen

Jacqui,
I wanted to thank you for all of your hard work and effort you put into my resume. The quality and style were of pure professionalism, and not to mention the wording and arrangement were perfect. Once I received the first draft, I hardly had to make any changes. I forwarded it onto a relative, and she showed it to some people at the law firm she works at.
Here was what she said:
“Julie, our HR Director, said this is awesome. She said that the Technical Summary is the first thing that you notice, and that is what most HR people look for at first glance with a resume. I have asked Heather (Executive Director) also, and she thinks this is one of the best resumes she has ever seen. She also said that if you want to use her as a reference, she would be glad to give you a good one.”
I hope everyone has better results (even) than I did! ‘Cause if so, there won’t be any need for unemployment! Heck, I wanted to hire myself after reading it! … 🙂
Thanks again!

My wife and I went over the resume last evening … you did an outstanding job on it!
We were very impressed with the style, content and professional look of the finished product. It is obvious that you took a detailed approach to your work. Thanks very much for all of your efforts!
Best regards,

Dear Jacqui:
Just a quick note to let you know how I truly appreciate the professionalism that you displayed in reconstructing my resume. After 21 years in the business world, I suddenly found myself without a job and did not know where to turn.
I made an attempt to create my own resume but quickly realized it was not effective. I contacted you for help and within three weeks after completion of the revised resume, I began getting interviews. I am now currently employed in the Chicago, IL area and am looking forward to additional business challenges and rewards.
Once again, thank you for your help, and good luck in the future.

Jacqui:
Your hard and energetic work in creating my resume has paid off for me. After submitting my resume to more than 50 job opportunities, I have recently finished my second interview with a company called Fieldworks located in Olathe, Kansas.
Fieldworks sells equipment to the construction, GIS/Mapping, Industrial, Land Surveying and Law Enforcement industries. They are wanting to expand into the international market, and that is why they are heavily considering my experience in this position.
They told me that I was one of the Top 3 candidates for the position before they interviewed me for the first time last week. I believe that this has a lot to do with the information that was found on my resume.

Jacqui,
I wanted you to know that I have received alot of comments on the quality of the resume that you had prepared for me. I am actively seeking employment having left Sprint, and the resume has been received very well.
Thanks again.

Jacqui,
I just wanted to thank you for your wholehearted help in working with me on my resume(s). The response from my resume was very positive – Hallmark called me the next day after I sent them a resume, and I turned down a senior manager position from another company (they said my resume was always on the ‘top of the pile’).
Although I have decided to move overseas and research opportunities there (for which you created a wonderful resume), I am sure I will be using you in the future, and I will be recommending you to associates.
Regards,

Jacqui,
The way in which you formatted my resume got everyone’s attention. People always commented on my Ecuador trip and seemed to be really impressed. You could not have done a better job in selecting the resume content.
Thank you, thank you.

Jacqui:
I wanted to thank you for all your hard work in putting together my resume. It takes a special person to pull together all the wonderful characteristics that you did for me–you made me sound like somebody I wanted to be and the good thing about it is that person is me.
I know I thanked you way back when–when I first received my final copy, but my journey has been one of new and exciting events. I will tell you of my story of where I have been and where I am at this time. After turning down several offers I accepted a position at Mayer Hoffman & McCann/CBIZ on the Plaza.
At the time I had submitted several resumes to other companies and after about two months I heard from Hallmark. Yes, Hallmark is where I am at this time. I am in the Sales Department as a Retail Support Center Inside Sales Representative. Hopefully, I will be using your services to update my current resume.
Once again–thank you.

I wanted to tell you that my resume is working very well. It has actually prompted a response from 100% of those that I have sent it to. I also never realized how many want it electronically. I am now in a fortunate position to pick a new position.
Thanks for your help! I will keep you posted as to my next position, I will also continue to recommend you to associates in Kansas City.
You were a great help, possibly too good. I won’t be able to take the 6-month furlough I had hoped!!!!

Hi Jacqui!
Well, this week has been exciting. I was offered and accepted a job as a Program Director for Executive Programs at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. I will start my new duties on May 15 in Cambridge, MA. My last day here is officially April 28.
I was also offered a chance to interview for a position in D.C. this
week and was asked if I wanted to work on a Ph.D. at Missouri University! It’s funny how it is usually feast or famine.
Thank you for all of your help. Let’s continue to stay in touch. I have been passing out your information. You will probably begin receiving calls from people.
Take care!

Dear Jacqui,
I wanted to let you know that I got a job at Labone in Lenexa. I found out today. It was the first job I wanted, with better pay and benefits. It was between this and Sprint but Labone won out.
Thank you for your time and help on the resumes. I will mention your service for anyone else I know looking a career change.
Thanks again.
