Executive Careerist: BEWARE the hyphothesizers, deducers and stern pragmatists who insist that their marketing expertise or digital guru-ism applies neatly + perfectly to your career resume story.
The strategy for building your value proposition and aiming it as an influential message to your target audience, which ultimately is a hiring executive, board member, etc., is vastly different than other forms of marketing. Moreover, even those who are involved in some aspect of looking at resumes don’t always “know what they don’t know” until they see it.
And quite frankly, there are no hard and fast rules for resume development. If you don’t dare to be genuine and even a bit different in your presentation and articulation of your story, then you may find yourself in lockstep with the generic pack.
