The storm of social media has rocketed career hastags and chats into cyberspace, often stirring up intellectual and emotional frenzy, creating an over-caffeinated effect on our bodies and minds. With the proliferation of new points of entry into online communication, from Twitter to Facebook to Google+ and more, careerists’ attentions easily can become divided as we compete in a race to share, and often ‘over-share,’ our lives, insights and intellectual prowess.
While the temptation is to constantly involve oneself in the online exchanges, I encourage job seekers to adopt a more measured approach to focus their efforts and accomplish their goals.
