And so it goes, you are in hot pursuit of finding that next great gig.
You are determined that ‘now that you have determined’ you are ready to jump ship from your current company, that you have a set timeline.
You’ve determined, above all else, to be planted in your new role on X date in X months, end of story.
Here’s where I encourage you to, ‘step back for a moment’ and regroup. Don those well-fitting and ever-so-comfortable jogging shoes, and get ready for the marathon of your career life. Reset your mind for flexible plan prep + implementation, intellectual rigor and intellectual delight.
Enjoy the process; apply patience; dig deep; contemplate; and DO. And keep working your paying gig, playing on the weekends to untether from constant work + career thought-work; regrouping on Monday to begin anew. The outcome that is best for you, and your family, will come, in the right time.
So, cool your jets, and remember, it’s about a quality outcome vs. speed.
